Tēnā koutou katoa. Ko Renee Hurliman tōku ingoa.

I am a New Entrant teacher in Room 12. I have grown up in Tokoroa my entire life but moved away to Hamilton for the last four years to complete my Bachelor of Education at the University of Waikato. I am an ex-pupil of Tokoroa North School which is why I found it a perfect fit to start pursuing my teaching career here where it all began for me.

I am passionate about Te Reo Māori me ōna Tikanga which has led me to enrolling in Te Reo Māori (He Pī Ka Pao) for the 2024 year. I believe we are all forever learning and I hope to apply my growing knowledge in my classroom and guide our tamariki. I aim to create an accepting, warm and welcoming classroom that comes with a very smiley and inclusive teacher.

Outside of the classroom, you will see me heavily involved in sports in our community. I play netball, including indoor netball with the North School Staff, and I am the secretary of the Tokoroa AFC. I have a small business making platters and catering for different events which fuels my creative side.

My classroom door is always open.

Ka whāngaia, ka tapu, ka puawai – That which is nurtured, blossoms then grows.

Ngā mihi nui ki a koe.
