Kia ora, I am Stephani Preston and I am the Assistant Principal and Senior Leader of Yr 5 and 6.  My role in our kura is centred around the senior school – leading a team of 5 amazing kaiako passionate about creating positive outcomes for their akonga. I am also responsible for identifying Gifted and Talented students and catering to the needs of students needing extension in maths and writing. My biggest passion is Te Reo me ona Tikanga. We are developing in our kura a culture of Te Reo that is becoming more normalised. Whether it is through waiata, karakia, wā mihi or pūrakau;  our tamariki are exposed to opportunities to speak Te Reo. The introduction of Aotearoa NZ Histories has provided us with  a platform to build a localised curriculum and engage our community back into our kura. We look forward to seeing this curriculum being explored!
